Some would argue that there is nothing that says childhood like a teddy bear - the iconic plush toy that was created in 1902 by Margarete Steiff. It's true that it's tough to beat the teddy bear when it comes to all things related to childhood, however, bunny stuffed animals could very well give them a run for their money. While a rabbit is pregnant, its fur will grow thicker which the female then pulls for use as a safe place for the babies to sleep and nurse. Lop (floppy eared rabbits) are often the preferred species of rabbit to have as a house pet as they are known for their easygoing nature. There are several species of Lop rabbit including: French Lop, English Lop, Mini Lop, American Fuzzy Lop, and the Holland Lop. All rabbits are very social animals and can be terrific companions for children, however, they do require a great deal of attention and care. For those not interested or willing to put in the time to care for a pet rabbit, a bunny stuffed animal is really the next best thing. Some bunny stuffed animals are so life-like, in fact, it's difficult tell if it's the real thing or not.
