Bunny Stuffed Animal Toys

Some would argue that there is nothing that says childhood like a teddy bear - the iconic plush toy that was created in 1902 by Margarete Steiff. It's true that it's tough to beat the teddy bear when it comes to all things related to childhood, however, bunny stuffed animals could very well give them a run for their money. Unlike the wild bears in which the teddy bear was originally modelled after, rabbits are a wild animal that can be kept as a pet. Given this is the case, a child can actually be given the rare opportunity of holding and cuddling something they have likely seen in the wild - certainly a treat for any child. A bunny plush animal is just further extension of the love children have for their cherished pet rabbits. And, for those not fortunate enough to have a pet rabbit, a bunny stuffed animal is always
a lovely alternative.

Rabbits are often referred to as 'bunnies' or 'bunny rabbits' - a pet name for rabbits when they're young. Rabbits typically live in burrows underground; they are built to include several exits and entrances so as to make escaping (if necessary) easier. Their burrows are called 'warrens' which have a place for waste, another for babies, and still another for sleeping. While a rabbit is pregnant, its fur will grow thicker which the female then pulls for use as a safe place for the babies to sleep and nurse. Newborn rabbits have no discernible odor or smell which helps to keep them hidden and protected from predators.

Like the animals they replicate, bunny stuffed animals are available in a wide variety of sizes and colors. In addition, a bunny stuffed animal can be purchased with ears standing straight up or with long ears that flop over - referred to as a 'Lop rabbit.' Bunny stuffed animals also have different body types; some are very soft with legs that dangle which allows for posing them in both sitting or lying positions; others have harder bodies that stand stand straight up and cannot be moved from that position.

Lop (floppy eared rabbits) are often the preferred species of rabbit to have as a house pet as they are known for their easygoing nature. There are several species of Lop rabbit including: French Lop, English Lop, Mini Lop, American Fuzzy Lop, and the Holland Lop. All rabbits are very social animals and can be terrific companions for children, however, they do require a great deal of attention and care. For those not interested or willing to put in the time to care for a pet rabbit, a bunny stuffed animal is really the next best thing. Some bunny stuffed animals are so life-like, in fact, it's difficult tell if it's the real thing or not.
